Visit Belgium
Leuven is an historic university town, founded in the 9th
century. It is located 15 minutes away form the Brussels airport.
With a diameter of only 2 miles, Leuven is a real walking and biking
town; many streets are open only to pedestrians.
The two World
Wars in the 20th century destroyed much of Leuven. A great deal of the
reconstruction work lasted well into the nineteen-sixties.
