More to come soon!
Meanwhile, check out Bram’s cycling page ;)

(Video 12 Mb) The start of the final lap. I was well-positioned here, but unfortunately I got pushed
to the back during the final lap. Well, unlike some other (crazy) guys, at least
I didn’t crash. That’s the important thing. Finished 8th.

Cuttin’ the corner…

(Video 39 Mb) Trying a breakaway… Although I was not convinced it would work…
So I held back after the next corner, because we still had 8 laps to go.

The start of the final lap. Another lesson I learnt: make sure you are in
a chair in the front of the pack with no more than a couple of guys in front of you.
But make sure you stay out of the wind yourself. Finished 9th.

A valuable lesson I learnt: always take a corner on the inside.
You can often gain two or three positions if you take a corner on
the inside properly… by cutting off other guys. The trick
is to let them think you didn’t do it on purpose :).

Closing a gap on some guys (not the head of the race unfortunately).
It took me a full lap, but eventually we caught up. The guy behind me
wisely chose to stay in my slipstream :).

No one felt like pulling against the wind here. So, why would I?…
Time for a quick drink.

The Col d’Aubisque. Next to me, the mule on which I climbed it :).

The famous Col du Tourmalet. Too bad we couldn’t access the Pic du Midi
(although at the time it didn’t seem all that bad, since it saved us
from climbing another 600 m).

Between the clouds on the Hautacam (doesn’t its very name make you shiver? :),
taken on a trip with some friends in the Pyrenees.

On La Berarde…

My enthousiastic cycling colleagues on La Berarde. Photographer Ton
unfortunately not on this picture.

A nice alpine picture taken on a trip with my enthousiastic cycling
colleagues in the Rhone-Alpes.

No comment… :)

During a race in Kruishoutem. Notice the sheer agony on my face.
This picture was probably taken during the lap in which I slightly
(only by an inch or so) missed the next turn (I just cycled into a field
and got dropped from the pack)

Just before a race in Kruishoutem (wearing a McGill jersey). Lately,
my technique in the turns has greatly improved. As result, I now manage
to stay in the pack :).

During a race in Bredene. I got dropped from the pack :). Shameful but true.

My brother Karel, showing some guys how it’s done during one of the last laps of
“Kachtem koerse” (the “ch” is often pronounced as a “k” in the “volksmond” to
make fun of the inhabitants of this small village :).
He won this race. Yes, I have a lot to learn when it comes to cycling :).
