Bram Demeulenaere – People

Provided below is a list of the people with whom I currently cooperate, mainly concerning application of convex optimization in mechatronics and biomechanics. I like to think of the PMA people with whom I cooperate as the CVX group, the multidisciplinary research group within the PMA division that works on applications of convex optimization in mechatronics and biomechanics. The lists are roughly chronological (longer cooperation = higher on the list). I am the thesis co-adviser of G. Pipeleers and M. Verschuure. Most of the Ph.D. students have my former thesis advisers Prof. Jan Swevers and Prof. Joris De Schutter as their thesis advisers.

Ph.D students

  • Goele Pipeleers (repetitive control)

  • Myriam Verschuure (counterweight balancing)

  • Jan De Caigny (control of LPV systems–dynamically optimal motion trajectories)

  • Friedl De Groote (simulation of human motion)

  • Diederik Verscheure (identification of contact dynamics–time-optimal robot trajectories)

  • Neophytos Messios (function approximation with splines)

  • Lieboud Van den Broeck (fast MPC for mechatronic systems–input shaping)

  • Marnix Volckaert (iterative learning control)

Other junior researchers

  • Dimitri Coemelck (project engineer IWT 040444)

  • Volkert van der Wijk (master thesis student at T.U. Delft–balancing of manipulators)

  • Jeroen Sierens (master thesis student–repetitive control of machines)

  • Wim Heirwegh (student–my Python guru)
