Bram Demeulenaere – Cycling
I tend to be rather crazy about cyling–like most Flemish people seem to be in one way or another. Just check the crowds during the Ronde van Vlaanderen, the most important Flemish cycling race, and you’ll be convinced. Unfortunately, like many other people who did not have the talent to become a professional cyclist, I had to settle for something else, in my case, scientific research in the daytime and recreative cycling over the weekend. On this page, I am going to post some pictures related to my cycling adventures of the last few years (mainly cycling in the French Alps) as well as some of my upcoming projects, the most exciting of which is cycling from Leuven to Heidelberg, my two home bases (roughly about 500 km, no not in one stage, that would rather be something for Diederik), some time in early May and in excellent company. If you like cycling more from a scientific viewpoint, you might want to check the work of Arend L. Schwab on bicycle dynamics. The picture below was taken on the Mont Ventoux (in the French Provence) in late July 2007–Being a fan of Australian Robbie McEwen, I’m the guy advertising for the Belgian state lottery team.
